Registering on Meeting Manager
All conference communcations are sent through our online system - Meeting Manager, so please ensure you are registered on the site as soon as possible. Simply go to www.hothousemedia.com/mm - click on Educator Registration and follow the steps. Once registered, please ensure that you apply to attend the Alphe Latin America 2011 conference.

Booking your Hotel Room at the Renaissance Hotel, Sao Paulo
To book your hotel room, please log into your Meeting Manager account and go to Current and Past Conferences. Click on the 'Book Hotel' button next to Alphe Latin America 2011 and input your accommodation requirements. You will then receive an email confirming your booking. Should you wish to make any changes, simply log into Meeting Manager and go to Hotel Booking. Having made the changes, a confirmation of your amended booking will be emailed to you. If you do not require a hotel room please tick the ' I do not require a hotel room' box.

The rooms cost US$144 per single/double room per night including VAT for single occupancy. Breakfast is not included but the Alphe Cafe is open at 8am on the mornings of the conference. Cancelling within 35 days of the event will mean a charge of one night's accommodation.

Forwarding materials to the hotel
Please clearly mark the name of your institution on the package. Send materials to the hotel for the attention of " Ana Monte - Event Department".
Mark your materials "Information materials for Alphe Conference, Hothouse Media " and give the insurance value as zero. This will help avoid customs delays and taxes, but don't be surprised if the government does levy taxes and check with your courier company to make sure the materials have been delivered successfully before you leave home. Make sure that your materials don't arrive more than ten days before the workshop starts. All taxes must be pre paid before shipping. The hotel is not responsible and will not accept shipping with pending payment.

Visas
Some countries' citizens require visas in order to enter Brazil. If you need one, apply for your visa at least 6 weeks before Alphe.

Making appointments with agents
All meetings are arranged using Meeting Manager. At least four weeks before the conference begins you will be able to view the delegate lists. To access Meeting Manager go to www.hothousemedia.com/mm. Simply enter you username and password (which is the same for all Alphe's) and then select the conference in question. If you have forgotten your username and password use the "Forgot Password". Once in the correct conference environment, select those that you would like to meet and send an email request. If that delegate wants to meet with you they will select an empty appointment slot on your personal agenda and the meeting is arranged and confirmed

Appointments
You will meet dozens of people, so bring a camera and a questionnaire with the main topics you want to cover. Remember, the real work will start when you get home - the follow-up is the most important part of workshopping, so don't let your contacts forget about you.

Events
During Alphe, there will be a complimentary reception after registration on the first night, with drinks available. There will also be a complimentary dinner in the hotel on the day 2.

The Hotel

Airports
Guarulhos International Airport is about 30km away. A taxi, depending on the traffic, is about R$80,00.

Getting around
Taxi cabs are safe to hail on the street. São Paulo is one of the biggest cities in the world and has the crime associated with big cities, so just generally keep your wits about you.

Tourism
The Renaissance hotel is located in the center of São Paulo, overlooking the tranquil greens of Trianon Park and surrounded by exciting museums and theaters. It is in the heart of city's business and financial district. Surrounded by fine stores, excellent restaurants and many sights.
The city also offers an intense artistic and cultural life. One will only know São Paulo well if he visits its cultural centers and museums, where there are a number of collections of both international and national famous painters and artists. For those who like historical monuments, a visit to the city's churches is a must, specially Convento Nossa Senhora da Luz, built in 1579.
Enjoy the city's nightlife and visit its hundreds of calm or busy bars, discos and nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, performances, concerts, dance shows, pubs and much more.
