New members for IALC

September 20, 2013

The International Association of Language Centres (Ialc), has announced that two independent language schools will join as new members from October 2013: Studio Cambridge, UK, and Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza, Spain.

Founded in 1954, Studio Cambridge is a year-round school in central Cambridge providing a range of general and specialised English programmes, and also operates eight summer centres and a winter camp in the south of England.

Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza offers courses in general and business Spanish in Ibiza town, and was established in 2008 by partners Daniel Bertole and Irene Verdugo. The school moved to a new premises last year, as previously reported.

Jan Capper, Executive Director of Ialc, said the latest recruits reflected the association’s strategic aim to give agents more choice.

“After successful inspections, we are pleased to welcome one of England’s longest-established independent language schools in the popular destination of Cambridge, together with a young, quality-focused Sapnish language school in a new destination in Spain,” she said.

Established in 1983, Ialc has members in 24 language learning destinations. Six Ialc member schools were successful in the recent STM Star Awards, while member schools were shortlisted 23 times across all categories.
