Bossa targets UK with week-long fair

October 07, 2013

The first Bossa Chinese Agents Fair in the UK is set to bring over 40 agents from the Beijing-based agency association together for a week of workshops and targeted meetings with educators from different sectors, in an event being organised by UK Work Study, a supplier of services to international students in the UK.

The fair will feature daily workshops themed on different sectors including: the Higher Education Fair, the Southern Boarding Schools Fair, the EFL Fair, the Northern Boarding Schools Fair and the Further Education College Fair. UK Work Study is working with organisations including London & Partners, the Association of Colleges, English UK London and the British Council.

Beverley Nash, Director at UK Work Study said, “We realise that there is a great opportunity to enable and increase the number of Chinese students studying in the UK, and we are delighted to be working with Bossa and our partners so that new relationships can be forged between agents in China and the UK education establishment.”

Jenny Fu, Assistant Director, International Department, at Bossa, said the UK was a major destination for member agencies. “The UK is very important to us, and we welcome the opportunity for our agents to increase their knowledge about the UK institutions and learn more about the different sectors. Of their total international placement, our agents placed about a quarter of the students in the UK, making the UK the second-most popular market after the US,” she said.

The daily fairs are being hosted at different locations, including London and Liverpool, and evening receptions for delegates are also being hosted by London & Partners and the British Council.

Stephen Clegg, UK Work Study Director of Business Development, Education, said, “The week of fairs has been designed to provide each UK educational establishment with the opportunity to have one-to-one meetings with Bossa agents, booked beforehand in a ‘network dating’ format.”

UK Work Study supplies a UK Study Pack for international students and also partners with companies in areas such as visa assistance, accommodation and shipping insurance.
