New tour EFL company launched in UK

The Travelling Classroom has been launched as a new player in the UK and Ireland EFL market, offering an academic language curriculum in combination with adventure travel.

Offered in seven, 10 and 14-day packages, the trips are designed for students and professionals with a limited time to study English. Founder and President Evan Schiff said, “Most of the larger chain schools require a minimum stay of two weeks. As a consequence, there is a significant gap in the market for those who desire a shorter and more interactive programme.” He added there was an untapped market for young adults seeking a shorter experience combining English with travel.

The programme will include at least three hours of EFL tuition and a different location every day, while students can also practise English with instructors during the adventure programme, with activities including kayaking, boat excursions and hiking.

Schiff has been piloting one-of-a-kind adventure education tours around the UK over the past ten years, and said trips would incorporate picturesque locales, historic sites and off-the-beaten track destinations. He said the Travelling Classroom would be small enough to offer a personal service to both agents and students.

Current tours are available in England, Scotland and Ireland, and Schiff said the Travelling Classroom would be expanding into the US and Australia in the future.
