In a statement, ATC said Directors Ugo and Edward Greevy were looking forward to continuing the great work of Francesca Sluman and Anne Rostron, who started the Winchester School of English almost 25 years ago.

“The reputation of the Winchester School of English has been built on a foundation of academic excellence in small classes with a very high degree of personal attention. This is just one of the many characteristics that attracted ATC to Winchester when looking for a new home in England,” said the statement.

The courses at the Winchester School of English, located in the county of Hampshire, will remain the same and include a range of general, intensive, one-to-one, exam preparation and English for Business programmes. The staff will remain and the owners are staying until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

Sluman and Rostron said they were delighted that ATC Language and Travel would be the new owners. “They understand and respect what we have been doing here and completely share our ethos and philosophy about how to run a good, student-centred school. We have total confidence that Winchester School of English will be more than safe in their hands,” they said in a joint statement.

Established over 40 years ago, ATC Language & Travel has permanent year-round schools in Dublin and Bray, as well as a comprehensive range of residential summer programmes for young learners in Ireland.
