Malvern House Cyprus launches uni taster camps

Malvern House Cyprus has announced a new University Taster Camp for 2014 in conjunction with its partner the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus (UCLan). .

Running through July and August, the camps are for students aged 15-to-21 years old and include Ielts preparation lessons, Academic English tuition and university lectures in a range of subject fields, such as business, marketing, finance, international law, computing, psychology and forensic science.

Accommodation will be provided in air-conditioned apartments at the Oceania Bay Luxury Complex, which offers two swimming pools, a sauna, outdoor spaces and other facilities, while a free shuttle bus is provided for transfer to campus.

In terms of study facilities, lessons will be based at the state-of-the-art university campus, with access to the university library, theatre – where students will experience a lecture broadcast from UCLan’s home campus in the UK – student lounges and computer labs.

Over the past eight years, Malvern House Cyprus has established itself as the leading provider of English language programmes,” said Yiota Kontoloucas, Director at Malvern House Cyprus.

“This year we have teamed up with UCLan to deliver the first of its kind – an academic summer camp and the possibility of entry to this prestigious British university in Cyprus.”

As previously reported, Malvern House began working with UCLan last year to provide pre-sessional English courses for international students, as well as marketing and recruitment services. Malvern House Cyprus is also one of the founding members of the English Languages Schools Association of Cyprus (Elsac), established last year.
