New consultancy for agent strategies

A new company, Working With Agents has been launched to assist institutions looking to build agent networks.

Established by Cam Harvey, Founder of The Learning Traveller agency and former Managing Director of Global Villages English Centres, Working With Agents is targeted at institutions that are relatively new to agent recruitment or schools that want to reform their agent recruitment strategies.

“It will help high schools and colleges that have no experience with agents and those that have had some exposure to agents but want to move to the next level of professionalism,” said Harvey. “My goal is to assist educational institutions reach their enrolment targets by helping them build the marketing strategy and tools necessary to attract a more professional and diverse agent network."

“Many schools are blind to the needs of agents and their clients. As a result, they bombard agents with undifferentiated brochures and marketing materials and are surprised when agents don't get back to them. They'll have a more receptive audience if they can tell their unique story in the right way and at the right time of the marketing cycle.” said Harvey. “Working With Agents offers everything from a complete market-by-market agent recruitment strategy to short-term coaching packages.”

The service will also promote the benefits of an effective agency network and introduce agency associations and targeted agent workshops. The service is open to institutions from anywhere, but will be predominantly focussed on high schools, colleges and universities in North America.

Following Nacac’s decision last year to validate commission-based recruitment, Harvey said, “Some institutions were hesitant to use agencies and are now drawing up agent policies, so I expect there will be some demand there.”
