Global provider EC English Language Centres has announced a further expansion from May with the opening of its 18th school in Manchester, UK.

EC Manchester will be in the heart of the city, one minute’s walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station, and will feature nine classrooms, a large reception area, a student lounge and a library. The state-of-the-art facilities include interactive whiteboards, 16 computers and eight tablets for student use.

The newest EC school will incorporate custom-built interior design features inspired by the cultural identity of one of the UK’s fastest growing cities.

Michelle Falzon, EC’s Director of Operations for Europe and South Africa, said, “We believe this thriving urban destination will provide a unique learning environment for international students to pursue many opportunities in their careers and further education.”

In a press release, EC said. “Manchester’s popularity as a language travel destination is growing, encompassing all the best that the UK has to offer; entertainment, culture, an amazing retail and leisure sector and, of course, football. The dynamic and forward-thinking city already boasts several prestigious educational institutions, including the highly ranked University of Manchester, and continually reinvents itself with pioneering achievements in business, creativity and science.”

EC Executive Chairman, Andrew Mangion, said, “We are constantly working to respond to the needs and wants of our agents and students, and there is always demand for more EC schools in the UK.”

First established in Malta in 1991, the company also operates schools in the USA, Canada and South Africa as well as the UK. EC Manchester will be welcoming international students from May 12.
