Explaining the decision to open IH Luanda Lda, Gavin Eyre, Managing Director of IH Cape Town, said, “The economy of Angola is growing rapidly and this has seen a significant rise in the demand for English lessons.

“The number of Angolan students studying with us at IH Cape Town has risen dramatically over the past four years, and we are therefore delighted to now be able to offer quality English lessons to those who are unable to travel abroad.”

Paulo Albuquerque, Managing Director and Shareholder of IH Luanda Lda, said, “Having been involved in education over the past 10 years in Luanda, I am excited to be part of such a quality organisation like International House World Organisation (IHWO). While there are a number of local English schools currently operating in Luanda, I am confident that the quality of our courses will be appealing to all sectors.”

There are plans for IH Luanda Lda to become a Cambridge Exam and Celta (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) centre in the future.

The IHWO network comprises of 150 language schools in over 50 countries providing English and modern language services to local and international students. IH Cape Town also offers consultancy services, business communication skills to executives, volunteering courses, and trains teachers, including with the Celta qualification accredited by University of Cambridge ESOL.
