IH Pacific opens in Hollywood

05 June, 2014

The IH Pacific Group has announced the opening of a new USA school in Hollywood, California, becoming the fourth centre for the North American group, part of the International House World Organisation.

The new IH Hollywood school will offer the same main programme areas as the other IH Pacific schools: English language courses; summer immersion programmes for youths; teacher training; and instruction in other languages. A grand opening of the school is scheduled for June 30.

“IH Hollywood offers students the best the Los Angeles area has to offer in a very accessible and modern facility located in the heart of Hollywood Boulevard,” said IH Pacific in a company statement. “With the school entrance on the ‘walk-of-fame’ and a stone’s throw from the legendary Dolby Theatre (formally Kodak Theatre), students will have the opportunity to see numerous celebrities up close.”

The IH Hollywood Junior Program in the summer, for students aged nine-to-17, will be located at California State University – Fullerton, and will include visits to attractions such as Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and local beaches.

“Opening a fourth location is an extraordinary accomplishment for our organisation,” said Cameron Prior, Executive Director of IH Pacific. “We’ve come a long way and our success is proof that a student-centred approach along with on-going teacher development and training works. We are thrilled to enter our 25th year of operation with the addition of this amazing, world-class location.”

The IH Pacific Group also includes another USA school in San Diego and Canadian schools in Vancouver and Whistler.
