The evaluation and accreditation system was recently developed by Camões IP, an associate member of Eaquals, to contribute to the expansion and dissemination of the Portuguese language with the guarantee of quality, both worldwide and within Portugal.

CIAL was the first private school in Portugal to undergo the process, passing the on-site inspection with a total of 98 points out of a possible 100, said Alexandra Borges de Sousa, Managing Director of the school.

Accredited schools can carry the Camões IP logo in recognition of quality and also benefit from access to pedagogical resources.

CIAL was founded in 1959 as a language school for Portuguese citizens, and now offers a range of languages as well as Portuguese programmes for international students. These include General Portuguese, Portuguese for Special Purposes, Portuguese & Volunteering, teacher training and exam preparation programmes.
