In prior years, only summer courses were offered in Berlin. Norbert Guethling, Director of the Humboldt-Institut, told Study Travel Magazine, "Our continued engagement in Berlin is our way to get adult students closer to the past and future of culture, business and politics in Germany."

The Berlin school is situated in a newly renovated building. Accommodation for a maximum of 87 students is provided in modern single and double rooms, all with en suite facilities, including full board and meals prepared and served on-site by the school’s own chefs. "We are happy to be able to provide the same high standards and the same familiar atmosphere, that our students are used to from our other three year-round course centres in smaller cities," said Guethling.

The new school will offer a range of programmes, including Intensive German, TestDaF preparatory courses, German plus Internship and German plus Higher Education. The school has also been licensed as a test centre for the TestDaF and telc examinations.

A full activity programme is provided, while full-day excursions are offered to places of interest such as Dresden, Potsdam, Wannsee Lakes and Stralsund. Students will also have the option of taking a split course combining study in Berlin and Humboldt-Institut’s other year-round adult centre in Constance.

As well as the two adult centres, Humboldt-Institut also has two year-round junior/teenager schools in Bad Schussenried and Lindenberg.
