Belta President, Carlos Robles, said ABAV Expo event, one of the largest tourism fairs of Latin America in São Paulo which is expected to attract 3,500 exhibitors and 80,000 visitors, would help to promote the Belta quality seal. “We want to explain about Belta’s activities and also promote the importance of the quality seal we have developed.”

The advisory board of ABAV will be composed of the Presidents of tourism organisations Aviesp, Abeta, Abracorp, Belta and Bito, and chaired by ABAV National President, Antonio Azevedo. It will develop strategies for national tourism development and enhancement of travel agents’ activities.

Belta has also joined a group of ABAV partners that will act together to strengthen the travel and tourism sector as a whole and implement projects that benefit the travel agents’ segment, such as promotion of courses and lectures.

Robles said, “The agents will be updated with visa information and alternative destinations of exchange educational programmes. This knowledge can also be taken to companies and used in customer service.”
