The school is located in the Les Olivettes quarter of Nantes, near the landmark LU Tower, Le Lieu Unique national centre for contemporary arts and music, and La Cité Nantes event centre.

Introducing the school, Owner, Stéphanie Olivier, told Study Travel Magazine, “It offers experience-based language learning through real-life situations. The programmes are short and thematic. They are about the art of living, gastronomy, heritage and culture. The various themes depend on the levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and the time of year.”

Specific course examples listed on the school website include: a one-week Craft and Shopping course, which includes visits to boutique stores and a pottery studio; the two-week Gastronomy and Oenology course, which features visits to a fruit farm, vineyard, biscuit factory, dairy farms and cooking classes; and the one-week Jules Verne programme, incorporating various Nantes attractions connected to the writer.

Olivier explained, “The cultural visits are used as course materials and are prepared ahead in the classroom, with authentic documents such as articles and videos, and exploited afterwards. The objectives are to gain knowledge of the French culture and way of life and to discover the region while practising the language and improving communication skills.”

Course packages include 15 hours of French language lessons per week, with a maximum of eight students per class, and 15 hours of practical workshops and cultural visits.
