“We are confident that the strategic decision will benefit our partners, students, team and alumni,” said Ugo Toselli, General Manager of Alpadia. “Our objective is to create a vibrant experience to nurture and encourage language development and build a sustainable future. We are all very excited to launch this 2014-2015 season.”

Ecole Suisse de Langues (ESL) opened its first language summer camps for juniors in two mountain villages in the French-speaking part of Switzerland in 1996, before the ESL language travel agency was founded a year later in Montreux, offering language courses worldwide.

A company statement said that after 18 years of successful co-development, the time had come for ESL Language Schools to “emancipate itself” and become a fully independent group of schools.

“Thanks to the commitment of their partners and teams, ESL Education Group has grown to be one of Europe’s leading international education providers. Today, ESL Language Studies Abroad advises students in over 30 offices around the world and ESL Language Schools operates all-year-round adult schools and junior summer camps in Switzerland, France, Germany and England,” said the statement.

Programmes, management, administrative and academic teams will remain the same, and all information support and enrolment procedures will continue to be managed by the International Admission Center (IAC) at the company’s head office in Montreux. The ESL Language Schools website will remain live for a transitional period.
