Trinity increases UK test centres

International exam board Trinity has opened an additional 170 UK test centres in the UK and Ireland this year, bringing the total to over 700.

The re-instatement of the EU-funded Italian PON scholarship scheme and the increasing number of school partnerships have led to more agents requesting courses that incorporate Trinity exams, said Henry Tolley, Head of Business Development at Trinity.

“This ability to deliver so many exams so quickly and on such a large scale has led more agents to include Trinity exams in their offers as schools promote Trinity as being either an inclusive part of the course or a nominal add-on for their students studying in the UK and Ireland,” said Tolley.

A number of English language schools in the UK have also added Trinity Drama qualifications into their summer courses, said Tolley, with more expected in 2015 following successful pilot programmes this year.

Meanwhile, the Trinity Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) and Integrated Skills in English (ISE) exams continue to be approved on the Home Office’s Secure English Language Test list, following the recently published update.

Globally, Trinity has also added new centres for CertTesol, an initial qualification for English language teachers, in Italy, Spain, Thailand and Brazil due to growing demand from non-native speakers in the professional development opportunities that the qualification can bring. Further applications are currently being processed from across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
