20, November, 2014

International education provider Study Group has announced four new university partnerships for the 2015/16 academic year at its Holland International Study Centre, preparing international students for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes

The new partnerships for HISC, which opened in 2013, will see international students complete a three-term International Foundation year before progressing onto the first year of an undergraduate programme specialising in Business and Management or Science and Engineering at: The Hague University of Applied Sciences; Hanze University of Applied Sciences; the University of Twente; or the VU University of Amsterdam.

Study Group now has 10 institutional partners in the Netherlands. Last year, the University of Groningen and the University of Nyenrode offered an International Foundation year course.

HISC also has a two- and three-term English Programme allowing progression onto courses at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, Avans University of Applied Sciences and Stenden University of Applied Sciences. Students can also complete an English Pre-master’s course before progressing onto master’s programmes at the University of Groningen and Wageningen University.

Arnold Persoon, European Partnership Director at Study Group, said, “Our relationships with the University of Groningen and Nyenrode have been very successful and these new partnerships are a result of our existing in-country achievements.”

Commenting on the growing appeal of the Netherlands for international students, Persoon said, “International students view Holland as a quality HE destination as it boasts excellent universities with first-class teaching provisions and low tuition fees, representing a value-for-money option. We anticipate interest in the region to keep growing.”

Professor Ton Mouthaan, Dean of the Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences at the University of Twente, said, “Holland has a fantastic higher education sector and is more popular with international students than ever before. Our partnership with HISC means we look forward to welcoming students from all over the world to our campus.”

Students attending the HISC will require a conditional offer from one of the universities, and the next foundation programme will commence is September 2015 with a minimum Ielts entry level of 5.0. Students can attend HISC via university referral or through Study Group’s network of agents.

Study Group also offers pathway programmes in the UK, USA, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
