Global language school chain EC English Language Centres has launched an updated version of its website, optimised for all devices, available in five languages and designed to bring the company closer to its students and agent partners.

The new EC mobile website in action

According to a statement issued by EC, the revamped website follows research into responsive technology, web analytics and a series of focus groups with students and agents. The website has evolved to “allow for a more streamlined, multimedia-rich user experience, with improved functionality, greater content and a modernised look and feel”.

The new website includes arrival, first day and travel guides, videos highlighting various destinations, regularly updated school blogs and 360-degree virtual tours. The site also provides monthly nationality mix breakdowns that can be visualised as an interactive chart.

EC Director of Marketing, Martin Cieszewski, said, “We wanted to develop something totally new from the ground up that has a particular focus on rich content that works well across all screen sizes and can empower our students and partners to make the right decision.

“Mobile for us is growing at a phenomenal speed and we needed to be in front of it. We also know that making a decision on who to trust for your educational success can be a very time consuming and daunting ordeal. We listened to our students and partners and made every effort to answer all their research questions with a website that provided a wealth of information and got them as close to the EC experience as possible short of setting foot in a classroom.”

In a separate development, EC has been awarded a ‘One Star’ accreditation for employee engagement by the Best Companies Index, used to measure levels of motivation, commitment and fulfilment through a comprehensive and confidential survey.

Mike Xuereb, EC CEO, said, “I am very proud that EC has been externally recognised as a fantastic workplace. People often talk about the correlation between highly engaged staff and customer service excellence. At EC we measure the engagement of both our staff and our students, so we can show true evidence of this in practice. We are thrilled to be developing an excellent workplace and revolutionising the service given to international students learning English in our schools.”

EC, first established in Malta in 1991, operates 21 language schools worldwide in the UK, USA, Canada and South Africa.
