Oxford International moves into USA

Global provider Oxford International Education Group has acquired Eurocentres San Diego, which becomes the company’s third centre in North America and first in the USA.

David Brown, Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Oxford International, which was formerly known as ISIS Education, said, “We are very excited about what this means for the company as we continue to pursue our vision for Oxford International to be a mid-sized, quality-driven organisation which offers educational, cultural and geographical diversity.”

The new acquisition will continue operations with the same title and staff, Brown explained. “Eurocentre San Diego will retain the Eurocentres brand, with all of the quality assurances that the name brings, and all of the current highly qualified staff will continue working for the school under our new ownership.

“We have grand plans for the school and will soon be moving to a new, state-of-the-art facility right in the heart of the city,” he added. As well as adult English language courses, the school will introduce higher education opportunities with pathway programmes and will offer a range of summer and year-round junior programmes.

The announcement swiftly follows the company’s acquisition of d’Overbroecks College, a UK-based independent secondary school. Last year, Oxford International (then ISIS Education) announced a partnership with a private equity investment company and signalled plans to expand its portfolio.

Established in 1991, the company incorporates ISIS Schools, ISIS Summer, Oxford Tutorial College, Bucksmore Education, UIC Vacation Courses and Leicester International Pathway College (LIPC) in partnership with De Montfort University.
