Clubclass to offer NCUK foundation programme

Clubclass, an English language school with centres in the UK and Malta has partnered with the NCUK consortium of universities in the North of England to offer the NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) programme.

The course will be delivered at Clubclass’s Malta centre in Swieqi, and upon successful completion international students can progress onto a degree programme at one of the 11 universities that constitute NCUK.

Joe Acquilina, Managing Director of Clubclass, said, “Here at Clubclass we have extensive experience of teaching English to non-native speakers. By offering the NCUK IFY, we can add the guarantee of a place at one of 11 leading UK universities and because of the English for Academic Purposes module, students will not need to take another English test to get an entry visa to the UK.”

Ken Gill, CEO of NCUK, said, “This is a great alternative for students who want to take the IFY but do not want to study at one of our existing centres in the UK. Not only will they learn in a fantastic environment, they will also be able to take advantage of the lower cost of living that Malta offers.”

Georgina Jones, Business Development Manager at NCUK, added, “One of our key strategic goals is to develop new opportunities to access the diverse range of degree programmes via the NCUK IFY. Our students now have a choice of taking a programme in their home country, the UK or other ‘hub’ locations such as Malta. The Clubclass partnership fits this goal ideally.”

Clubclass was established in 1999 and opened a school in the UK in 2012. NCUK was formed in 1987 to offer progression routes to its network of universities, and has helped over 20,000 students progress to UK degree programmes.
