GLS German Language School expands campus

GLS German Language School has announced the expansion of its Berlin campus by taking over the historic baths Stadtbad Oderberger, a landmark building under monument protection.

New executive accommodation at the GLS campus in Berlin

The baths are a neo-renaissance building opened in 1902, but had become abandoned and dilapidated until GLS purchased and renovated the building, integrating into its 16,000-square metre campus in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.

The baths incorporate 72 premium-standard hotel rooms due to open next month, becoming the school’s second on-campus accommodation option in addition to the 50 studio apartments already available and bringing the total housing capacity to 132 students.

“The new premium rooms are perfect for students looking for business class accommodation,” said Dorothee Robrecht, Marketing Manager at GLS. “The rooms are stylish and modern, combining comfort and architectural beauty. GLS expects bookings from (not only but especially) students doing a 30+ course at GLS.”

GLS was established in 1983 and offers a range of courses for adults and juniors. The company also operates the outbound study travel agency GLS Sprachenzentrum.

GLS German Language School is one of the institutions reporting positive enrolment trends in the special Market Analysis Germany feature on the country’s language school sector in the current March 2015 issue of StudyTravel Magazine.
