The new EC Cape Town school

After nine years at its previous Church Street location, EC has officially opened the doors of a new centre located steps from the Waterfront, Long Street and some of Cape Town’s hotels and shopping areas.

“As a group we are well known for having excellent schools in the best locations, and EC Cape Town was no exception. However, the EC ethos is to seek to continuously improve, and we are always looking for new ways to provide the best student experience possible. I am proud to say that the new EC Cape Town clearly underpins this ideology, where we have created a modern, student-centred space that is truly inspiring and innovative.”

The new school is in a renovated heritage building in the Central Business District of the city, and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the iconic Table Mountain. The bespoke design of the school was inspired by the rich cultural identity of South Africa.

The school features 12 uniquely designed classrooms, a lounge-reception area, a library and a self-study room. Technology features include interactive whiteboards, computers with free internet access and WiFi throughout the building.

EC Cape Town was one of the participating schools in the recent Education South Africa annual member survey of enrolment data, which showed an increase in student numbers and student weeks in 2014.

Established in 1991 in Malta, EC now operates 21 schools in the UK, USA, Canada and South Africa.
