Cambridge Education Group (CEG) has announced a Pre-Master’s Preparation Programme for international students in partnership with Lund University, Sweden, expanding the European options of its Oncampus programme.

Due to enrol its first students in September 2016, the Oncampus Lund Sweden programme will be the first such preparation course in the country, and will provide English language tuition alongside study skills and research methods needed for master’s-level study. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be well-placed to continue onto their chosen master’s degree at Lund University, said CEG in a statement.

Fergus Brownlee, Chief Executive of CEG, said, “Oncampus Lund Sweden offers an exceptional opportunity for international students to improve their English and develop the academic skills required to be successful at Lund University, a top 100 world ranking institution. Our new partnership with Lund University shows our continued commitment to developing relationships with highly respected universities in attractive destinations.”

Lund University was ranked 60th in the world in the most recent QS World Rankings, the highest placed institution from Sweden. CEG said Lund, located in Southern Sweden, was one of the fastest-growing research hubs in Europe.

Eva Wilberg, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the institution, said, “Lund University offers a welcoming and dynamic meeting place for international students and researchers from around the world. Our partnership with Oncampus will further strengthen our position as Sweden’s most international university and allow us to widen participation for academically talented students from across the globe.”

The Oncampus brand partners with several universities in the UK, three institutions in the USA, and the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

The Lund partnership is the latest development in a busy period for CEG, which has recently announced the opening of a new Stafford House School of English centre in Cambridge and the acquisition of Intrax English Programs in the USA, which will eventually be incorporated into the Stafford House brand.

Lund University was established in 1666 and currently has around 42,000 students across three campuses.
