Ireland-based provider Emerald Cultural Institute has announced its first foray into the UK market, offering a junior residential centre for 2016.

The new centre is situated at Cobham Hall in 150 acres of grounds in the Kent countryside.  “Originally a stately home belonging to the Earls of Darnley, it is now an independent school with fantastic facilities,” said Mauro Biondi, Managing Director at Emerald Cultural Institute (ECI). “These include a large, well-equipped gym, a dance studio, drama studio, art rooms, tennis courts, playing fields and an indoor heated swimming pool.”

ECI will provide a multi-activity junior summer residential programme, similar to its existing junior offerings in Ireland and the USA.

“The Emerald Cultural Institute brings 30 years of expertise in the successful provision of language, professional development and summer programmes to this new venture in the UK,” said Biondi.

“Each of our Dublin and New York summer centres has distinctive characteristics, allowing us to offer a wide variety of options to students. We chose each centre for these characteristics while also taking into consideration location and suitability for the types of programme we offer.

“We brought the same focus to our search for a school in the UK. The location of the school allows us to offer a residential programme in a magnificent setting with classroom, sports and recreation facilities all on campus, and to combine this with the advantages of a location within easy reach of central London by train,” Biondi said.

As well as junior programmes, ECI offers a range of general English, exam preparation, business, professional, teacher training courses and the 3U university pathway programme.
