Costa Rican language school Academia Tica launches first travelling classroom programme

28 August, 2015

Academia Tica Spanish School has announced that their new travelling classroom programme will be starting in late January 2016, combining an intensive 20 lesson per week Spanish course with visits, excursions and travels around Costa Rica in two- and four-week formats.

From January 2016, Academia Tica will be offering its first ever Travelling Classroom programme.

During the two-week programme, students will stay in three different locations combining local family homestays and small hotels, as well as the school’s two campuses in Coronado and Jacó Beach.

For the four-week program, there is one extra base location. Students will be accompanied by native teachers and guides in their travels, with its itinerary varying slightly across the year, so that students can benefit from the natural and cultural Costa Rican events of each season.

Manuel Al-Ghassani, Director at Academia Tica said, “We find that there is an idea of Costa Rica being sold that is purely commercial and washed-out. We want to surprise students with what this country really is and design an experience that will let them explore and learn something of value, which is what studying a new language is all about.”

The school, which is an Instituto Cervantes Accredited Center, said it wanted to bring the quality of its tuition outside of classroom walls and that the travelling language programme was aimed at students who wish to learn and see lots in a limited space of time.

Academia Tica will be featured in StudyTravel Magazine’s October 2015 issue, in a spotlight feature on multi-centre language programmes.
