Director, Loren Sampson, said the Island Vibe brand name had existed for 20 years through the company’s various products, including surf camps, volunteer programmes and backpackers’ hostels.

Commenting on the reasons behind the rebrand, Sampson said, “A lot of agents were selling all our products, so it made sense and gives us more traction.”

He added, “It speaks of what we try to do. It is very different; the school is on the beach. The new name conveys our promise.”

Island Vibe Language School offers a range of English language programmes, including General English, Business English, one-to-one tuition and preparation for the Cambridge FCE and CAE exams, as well as plus volunteering and plus surfing packages.

The school is a member of Education South Africa and the Island Vibe brand is a member of the South Africa Youth Travel Confederation (SAYTC).

Island Vibe also has backpacking hostels elsewhere along South Africa’s Garden Route in Knysna and Port Elizabeth.
