Last week I had a meeting with GlobalCampus - a new online portal aiming to be the global marketplace for international higher education, featuring peer reviews about institutions. I discussed this with a freelancer whose son is currently trying to work out where he should apply to university. It is a really difficult question, even for native students; which institution might offer the right course, location and milieu for them to feel at home and prosper. What is right for one student might not suit another. But I imagine, for international students, hearing any feedback from a fellow native student who is enjoying their studies overseas might be a real incentive to find out more and apply too - after all, they may not have even heard of a particular city overseas before reading someone’s glowing account of their time there.
