“I’m back in the UK now after two weeks away and I had as much fun in New York at WYSTC as I did in Portugal on holiday with family and friends, if I’m honest. (Let’s hope they don’t read this!) It was great to meet some of you out in Brooklyn. Since I’ve been away, the financial banking structure of the West seems to be imploding and, like many of you I imagine, I have found it fascinating to follow this news story – history in the making, as my financial journalist friend tells me. Certainly, there will be an impact on Joe Public from this meltdown, and it’s hard to say to what extent. But I hope that the lifelong advantage that overseas study can bring means that international education remains a core expenditure for many.”
