Study Group partners with Istituto Marangoni

International education provider Study Group has announced a partnership with European fashion school Istituto Marangoni to attract more international students. The agreement will see Study Group setting up and running an international study centre (ISC) on the fashion school’s London campus to prepare overseas students for undergraduate programmes.

Content of the three-term international foundation year will include English language training as well as modules focussed on drawing, computer drawing and the history of art, covering renowned artists such as Rothko and Warhol. The foundation year will lead directly onto a BA Honours degree at the London and Paris campuses of Istituto Marangoni, or a three-year undergraduate programme in Milan. Students are subsequently able to transfer between the three schools after each academic year.

The centre will be based on Study Group’s existing ISC model already in operation at institutions throughout the UK and Ireland. It is hoped that students from emerging fashion hotspots such as Shanghai, Moscow, Dubai, Seoul and Mumbai will be attracted to the programme.

Roberto Riccio, Group Managing Director at Istituto Marangoni, said, “The new partnership with Study Group confirms our commitment to the attraction of some of the best students from around the world. Language shouldn’t be a barrier for any emerging talent to make it in the fashion industry. The programmes offered at the ISC will ensure international students are at a suitable academic level to then be trained as highly skilled fashion technicians at our schools.”

James Pitman, Managing Director of Study Group’s Higher Education Division, added, “There is a wealth of emerging talent in previously untapped regions of the world that is determined to break through into the fashion industry. We are recognised as the leaders in international education and take great pride in the levels of progression achieved by students that study with us. We will replicate this success with Istituto Marangoni to further help the school attract the brightest and the best from around the world.”

Study Group was established in 1994 and through its partnerships with universities worldwide provides on- and off-campus academic preparation courses. Istituto Marangoni was founded in Milan in 1935 and offers programmes in all areas of fashion. Famous alumni include Domenico Dolce and Umit Benan.
