Malvern House opens brand new London centre
London-based language school chain, Malvern House, is closing its Trafalgar Square teaching centre and opening up in the brand new Nido complex that houses state-of-the-art halls of residence, canteen and student lounge area in King’s Cross. Nick Hobson, Marketing Director of Malvern House, said, “It’s a step by step upgrade of quality for us. We will have three premium centres in Central London: Piccadilly, Bloomsbury and from June, Kings Cross.” He added, “We think our students will welcome a fantastic new customised teaching environment in a part of London that is developing fast as a hub for art, media and education.”

Melbourne colleges under scrutiny for visa fraud
Up to 20 colleges in Melbourne, Australia are under investigation for possible visa fraud, although the Immigration Department in the country has declined to reveal which colleges these are. They are suspected of providing documentation attesting to students having completed their studies in Australia, even if this is a false claim this can help ensure success when migrants apply for permanent residency after graduation.
In 2007/2008, over 21,000 Australian student visa holders were granted permanent residency under various visa class applications.
Accommodation upgrade at IH Qingdao
Language students studying at International House Qingdao in China will soon benefit from newly renovated single, double or triple-sized rooms.
The school, based in the Shandong region of China, recently acquired the other half of the campus building it is situated in and has renovated it to expand upon its teaching and accommodation facilities. It now boasts 64 rooms, increasing its accommodation capacity by 50 per cent.
“With our rich and strong Mandarin and English teaching resources, comfortable on-site accommodation and on-site canteen, which serves various delicious cuisine from all over China, we welcome our friends to the most beautiful coastal city in China,” said a representative at the school.
